KT Digico Garden

KT EAST building designed by Renzo Piano is adjacent to the east side of Gwanghwamun Square. In its early drawings, at the ground floor created by supporting the mass on pilotis, nature with small hills and trees was open to the public. CA tried to adapt these early ideas presented by Piano while considering the site’s current contexts and demands. The following design sets the building on top of the forest as if it is lightweight and floating. By letting the ground once trapped behind the concrete barriers flow and adding strips of rich greenery, a spacious green carpet is introduced. A public space filled with nature became the basis of the design and put the utmost effort to achieve it.
