Pyeongtaek-si Administrative

Project Description:

Location:

Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

Proposed the concept of "One Roof: One City" for the new administrative town in Pyeongtaek, envisioning a future-oriented design. This roof embodies Pyeongtaek's unique identity, resembling the vast and expansive plains of the region, symbolizing unity and harmony. The solar panel-covered roof reimagines the Pyeongtaek plain, once known for rice production, now termed as an "energy farm." This will serve as a practical initiative, symbolizing Pyeongtaek's commitment to becoming an eco-friendly city.
The proposal focuses on three key objectives:
1. A "public" government building that serves as a platform connecting nature and daily life.
2. A "functional" government building designed as a dynamic workspace.
3. A "breathing" government building, nestled beneath a large tree, promoting sustainability.
The building’s facade features a forest-inspired pattern, with balconies offering horizontal eaves and relaxation spaces. Rooftop gardens, terraces, and tree columns complete the design, evoking the image of a flourishing forest.
